Deck the House – A Christmas Lights Decorating Contest
will be held this season with the following dates:
Entry Application Period:11/27-12/10
Judging Period: 12/12/23 – 12/14/23
Winners Announced:12/15/23 7:00pm

1. Participation is open to all residents & businesses in Ashland, NH.
2. Entry is free, no cost or fees apply.
3. Employees of Elaine Hughes Realty Group LLC and their families, judges and their families are not eligible to win the contest.
4. You are required to register your home via this link, or by stopping by the office by Friday December 10th, 2023.
5. Contest is for exterior decorations only, including decorations in windows that are visible from the exterior. Judging will be done from the outside of residence only.
6. Judging will be based on "curb appeal" as viewed from the street only. Therefore, only those decorations located on the street side of the property will be judged(corner lots will be judged from both streets). Judges will not enter the property to view back or side yards.
7. Participants agree to have one or more photos of their decorated residence exterior posted on the Elaine Hughes Realty Group LLC Website, Facebook page or other media sources deemed appropriate by Elaine Hughes Realty Group LLC. Participant agrees there will be no compensation of any kind for said posting or publication.
8. Judging criteria will include [a] unique design, creative use of lights and decorations; [b] Display and placement of decorations, animated objects , inflatables etc.; and [c] Overall presentation.
9. Judging will be done from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday 12/12, Wednesday 12/13, and Thursday 12/14. All judging will be complete no later than 8:00 p.m. on 12/14/22
10. Participants should ensure that all lights, animations, and decorations are in place and activated for the judging periods.
11. Three prizes will be awarded: One 1st Prize of $300 cash; one 2nd prize of $200 cash; one 3rd prize $100 cash.
12. Winners will be announced on Friday 12/15 at 7:00 pm. Winners will be announced on the Facebook page Elaine Hughes Realty Group LLC, and also by telephone. Winners will receive a yard sign they agree to keep in their yard through 12/29/23
13. Elaine Hughes Realty Group LLC, and all associates, as well as judges will not responsible, nor held liable in any way for damages or harm brought about by any person and or any property part6icipating in this contest. Decorating your property or rental is considered at your own risk. Remember to follow all electrical codes, any applicable town or landlord restrictions, use common sense and be safe
